Baptized by elder John Lee Jones. Emigrated to Utah in 1880 and located at once in West Jordan. He wasordained a Teacher in 1887, Ordained an Elder 13 Nov 1887, Ordained aSeventy 22 Dec 1889. In 1891-94 he filled a successful mission to Samoa.Set apart as president in the 33rd quorum of Seventy 9 Feb 1896. In 1900, accompanied by his wife and his brother, Walter A. Dimond, hevisited relatives and friends in England for the purpose of obtaininggeneology. Elder Dimond is by occupation a sheepr-raiser and farmer.

Meindert Doodes, a sea captain, native of Holland (Maryland ProprietaryWills, v VI, pp. 208-09) in 1673, with his son, then known as DoodesMinor, was naturalized by Act of the Assembly (H II, p. 308), comfirmed1705 (H III, p. 479_, Meindert Doodes' will, 13 Dec 1677-7 Jan. 1677(Middlesex Co. Wills 1675-1798, p. 6), bequethed to his wife Mary Doodesall the personal estate during her widowhood but if she should marry, sonDoodes Minor's children were to have half of the Negroes and the otherhalf to go to Peter Montague for the sole use of his wife, and after herdeath to the sole use of her children. Mary Doodes' will, 17 Nov 1678-7Feb 1686 (ibid., p. 35), named her sons Doodes Meindert and PeterMontague and daughter Marie Montague's daughter Marye. Apparentlyfollowing Dutch custom, both of Meindert Doodes' children used the surnamMeindert, which rapidly became the more easily recognized (byEnglish-speaking people) Minor.
